Hello! My name is Vanessa Badger and I am the proud owner of Zoo Sitters, LLC.

As a former zoo keeper, I realize how much experience, time, energy and patience goes into caring for animals. As a pet owner, I also realize how hard it is for me to give that responsibility to someone I don't know when I have to be out of town. Because of this, I created Zoo Sitters, LLC!

I’ve shared my home with many types of animals ~ from dogs and cats to ferrets, turtles and monkey-tailed skinks. Horses have been a big part of my life as well and show jumping served as my sport from grade school through college.

After graduating from West Chester University in 1997 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a concentration in Animal Behavior Research, I went to work as a zoo keeper caring for many types of exotics including monkeys, lemurs, birds, bats, large cats and bears.

As the years went by, I decided on a career change and went to work in Corporate America while taking courses toward my MBA. While Corporate America taught me a lot about running my own business, it was not as fulfilling as I had hoped. That led me to think about combining my two passions. In 2006, after 6 months living overseas in Costa Rica with my husband Mike, observing many exotics in their natural habitats, we decided to return to my hometown of Cape May, NJ and open up a professional pet sitting business.

We are responsive, certified, and accredited with the two largest professional pet sitting organizations in the country: Pet Sitters International and The National Association of Professional Pet Sitters. We are also certified in Pet First Aid through the American Red Cross, fully insured and bonded.
